Successful students know when to ask for help. The University of Pennsylvania is committed to providing the academic support resources that students need to achieve their goals. 

FGLI Nursing Textbook Library

We have partnered with the Greenfield Intercultural Center to provide Penn Nursing students with textbooks for the core nursing curriculum, and are housed at Fagin Hall. Textbook requests are handled on a first-come, first-served basis; if you are looking for a textbook that is already checked out please return to the site at a later date to request.

To request a book from the Nursing Library, please complete the Nursing-FGLI Textbook Request Form.
Please note: In your request you will be asked for a Library Number, this will be specific to the Nursing-FGLI Textbook Library. If you have not requested a book from the Nursing-FGLI Textbook Library before you will be receiving one when your request is processed.

Weingarten Office of Learning Resources

The Office of Learning Resources at Weingarten provides provides professional consultation services in university relevant skills such as academic reading, writing, study strategies, and time management to the Penn community. This academic support is provided through a varied menu of services and programs. 

Students can receive one-on-one consultation by making an appointment or dropping by the center during drop-in hours.

Student Disabilities Services

The University of Pennsylvania welcomes students with disabilities and is committed to providing the same exceptional opportunities to all Penn students. Policies and procedures have been developed to provide students with as much independence as possible and to promote self-advocacy.

In order to receive accommodations in Penn courses, students will first need to complete the self-identification form and submit documentation for review of eligibility.

Marks Family Writing Center

The Marks Family Writing Center provides writing support to Penn students and faculty across the disciplines. In addition to providing individual writing guidance and feedback to students, the Writing Center also presents writing workshops across campus and engages in community outreach.

David B. Weigle Information Commons

Located on the first floor of the Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center, Weigle Information Commons (WLC) supports collaborative learning and group activities using the latest technologies. Student can seek support for research, writing, public speaking, and study strategies. The Commons also includes a variety of study spaces as well as a digital media lab.

Penn Libraries

The Penn Libraries system includes the 12 libraries on Penn’s campus, as well as online access to a dizzying number of academic databases, resources and guides. Penn librarians are able to assist students via one-on-one consultations, workshops, and online chats. Other services offered by Penn Libraries include the opportunity to reserve study spaces, posting printing, and equipment lending.

Career Services

As the University’s centralized career center, Career Services helps Penn students, alumni and post-doctoral trainees define and achieve their career goals through counseling, programs and other resources, and strengthens the ties of alumni, employers and post-graduate institutions to the University of Pennsylvania and its students. Available services include resume and interview preparation, Nursing-specific job and externship workshops, job listings, and reference guides for the job search.
