Clinical Nurse Research Mentorship Program
The Nurse Research Scholarship Program is a research skill development curriculum designed to provide clinical nurses an opportunity to enhance their learning and understanding of the research process and participate in nursing research.
Meet the Pennsylvania Hospital Research Scholars
Elise Canale MSN, RN, CEN has been a nurse at Pennsylvania Hospital for nearly 12 years. She graduated from Penn State University’s College of Nursing and obtained her Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration from Chamberlain University. Elise primarily worked as a charge nurse in the Emergency Department where she obtained her Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) and led her own research study investigating the outcome of a critical incident debriefing tool applied to a interprofessional team in the emergency setting. Elise currently works in the outpatient infusion center and is part of the ViSuCaRe team, investigating the oncology patient and clinician experience of supportive care in the context of COVID-19. She is the current chair of the Pennsylvania Research and Evidence Based Practice Council.
Lindsey Tyrrell, MSN, RN, CEN, CN III has been a nurse at Pennsylvania Hospital for six years. She obtained her BSN from LaSalle University and her Master’s Degree in Nursing Education from Holy Family University. She currently acts as the Clinical Nurse Lead of the Emergency Department. Lindsey is an active member of hospital-wide committees including Nursing Practice and Policy Council, and well as Research and Evidence Based Practice Council. She is currently enrolled at Holy Family University to obtain her Doctor of Nursing Practice.
